hunting and fishing on exmoor with bed and breakfastRiding
With the number of well signed bridleways and r.u.p.p.s the choice and length of rides is endless. With three fox hound packs and the Devon and Somerset staghounds all of which meet in or near the village there are plenty of sporting activities available to the horse rider.  Exmoor is also home to the Golden Horshoe Ride, a long distance endurance ride taking place annually each May

Fishing
Kings farm has the added benefit of being able to offer 3/4 mile of single bank fishing, in season along the River Barle.

Walking
The two moors way, a long distance trail starting in Ivybridge and ending in Lynmouth passes though Withypool. There are numerous footpaths to various locations on the moor, including to Tarr Steps, with its famous clapper bridge (4 miles south along the River Barle) and to the medieval bridge at Landacre, 2 miles north along the river. There are many circular walks from Withypool, many of which have refreshments available en-route. You are likely to see the native Exmoor ponies or some of the fine red deer herd during your walks.

Shooting
There are a number of syndicated and farmers shoots in the area, in addition to a number of famous high bird shoots where days can be purchased.

Cycling
Exmoor is a wonderful base from which to cycle. There are numerous off road tracks and challenging hills to test even the most advanced cyclist, or the more flat and gentle Tarka cycle trail, along redundant railway lines in North Devon
